. Pace Design Inc., established in 1987, is a commercial design, planning and consulting company specializing in themed interiors. The firm is based in Belleville, Ontario, with a client range that extends throughout central and eastern Canada and the northeastern United States. Pace has extensive experience in creating themed environments for corporate, food service and hospitality sectors, with a growing focus on golf centres and sport facilities. Company services include market research, concept development, preliminary space planning, production of coloured renderings, colour sample boards through to working drawings, construction documents and final installations. The firm also attends site meetings with clients, general contractors, sub-trades, and consultants and writes progress and deficiency reports on construction. Pace Design offers a resource team approach, often acting as the prime consultant for a project, which requires architectural, engineering and specialty consulting input. John Smale, President, Pace Design Inc., is an active member of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario), IDC (Interior Designers of Canada) and ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). He has been educated at the University of Western Ontario (BA program) and Fanshawe College (Interior Design Program). John has been in the interior design business for over twenty years. Previously, he worked in the entertainment industry as a nightclub owner, artist manager, promotions director and music festival promoter. John also brings extensive marketing and merchandising experience to his firm.
